It has been officially a year and half since Dalen was diagnose
with Optic Pathway Glioma and one year since his first chemotherapy treatment. With so many doctors’ appointments throughout this year, I can truly say
Dalen is still blessed by God's unchanging hand. Some days seemed so unbearable
and he could never get through but God as always had a different plan for my Dalen.
He has met so many awesome children through this journey that has changed his
life forever. He also has gained a love for music. I recently found out that Dalen
has another talent and he loves it. He plays music by hearing and he can also
read music. This year has definitely had more good times than bad because Dalen
is so awesome.
So far the clusters of brain tumors are still shrinking.
Dalen has an MRI next week and we are expecting good news. His eye sight is
stable from what the doctors results show, however Dalen and I can tell it’s
more than stable. He is able to see at least fifteen feet away, now. And the
color blue is looking more like blue instead of purple. Throughout the day
Dalen is always pointing out something he can see now that he couldn’t before. Also, he has gained some of his peripheral view
back. He had no peripheral view; he could only see straight head unless he
would have turned his head. He still has a long way to go from his goal of
20/20. Yes this is Dalen’s goal! He tells me every day, “Mom I going to have
20/20 vision, watch and see”. Dalen’s faith is beyond any person I have ever
met. He teaches me faith and encourages me often. Dalen and I both agree that
his eye sight is getting better and we are so excited.
Please continue to pray for my Dalen. He has two and half more
months to go with treatments.
Happy New Year!
